Wellston Winds

The Wellston Winds kicks off the WRCCA season with a FREE concert for the Warner Robins community!  Under the direction of conductor C. Lloyd McDonald, The Wellston Winds is middle Georgia’s premier instrumental ensemble.  From light to serious, the concert will feature something for everyone to enjoy. Col. Ray Toler, USAF (Ret.), former commander of the Band of the Air Force Reserve at RAFB, will return to Warner Robins to lead several selections with the band.

American pianist THOMAS PANDOLFI is an exciting virtuoso who, with each passing season, becomes more and more sought after by audiences worldwide, showered with superlatives by critics for his passionate artistry and amazing technique.  He maintains an active touring schedule with recitals and guest performances across the country and around the world.  Pandolfi earned both his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from the legendary Juilliard School as a scholarship student. He is the proud father of a wonderful son and daughter, and resides in Washington, DC.

David Burgess, Classical Guitar

Guitarist David Burgess returns to middle Georgia with another performance for the WRCCA.  Praised by musicians and critics worldwide, David Burgess is recognized as one of today’s outstanding guitarists. His international appearances as soloist and chamber musician have taken him to concert halls throughout North and South America, Europe and the Far East.  Through his extensive travels in both Spain and Latin America, Mr. Burgess has explored traditional guitar styles, along with many popular and folkloric types of music. He has acquired one of the largest collections of Latin American guitar music in the U.S., from which he often draws interesting and unusual works for his programs.

Adrian Gnam Woodward Quintet

Maestro Adrian Gnam, a former principal oboist of the Cleveland Orchestra, Music Director Emeritus of the Macon Symphony Orchestra, and Distinguished Artist in Residence at Mercer University Townsend School of Music, will perform and direct an outstanding array of double reed musicians, including former and present Mercer students and local professional oboists, English hornists and bassoonists.  They will present an exciting variety of music from the Baroque to Contemporary period, including some special arrangements by Warner Robins’ own oboist Nestor Jaenz. This guarentees to be a most unique and unusual performance, one you don’t want to miss!

Rachel Eve Holmes, Soprano; with Catherine Giel

Rachel Eve Holmes is an exciting young soprano, recently described as, “expressive and subtle, with a stunning instrument.” A Georgia native, Holmes’ performing career has taken her to Bruges, Belgium; Shanghai, China; Novafeltria, Italy, as well as all over the United States. Comfortable across many genres, she is active in the choral world in opera, musical theatre, and music education.

Miguel Castro and Guests, Percussion

Miguel Castro, master drummer-percussionist, is Director of Percussion Studies and Jazz Band at Middle Georgia College and the Percussion Coordinator of the Houston County School System. Castro holds a master’s degree in Music Performance from the Conservatorio Nacional de Musica in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. With world-wide performances and hundreds of recording credits, Castro brings a wealth of experience that ensures an exciting and entertaining performance of percussion music from around the world.  Miguel Castro and friends will provide a fantastic end to our concert season!
