Dr. Chris Chandler, Piano and Storytelling
Dr. Chris Chandler hails from Savannah, GA and is currently professor of music at Savannah State University. Inspired by his mother and grandmother, both painters of distinction, he began playing piano at age 6.
He has continually played piano since then resulting in a career that has spanned more than four decades. Chris has intercontinental performing experience: Baltic Jazz Festival, 2003 St. Petersburg Russia, the British Isles 2008-2010, and Nuuk, Greenland at Hans Edge international conference Hotel 2018-19. He holds a BA in Music and Philosophy, the College of William and Mary, Masters in Music, the University of Richmond, an Ed. S., Liberty University and an Ed. D in music education, Genesis University, Hollywood FL. He received the ASCAP popular songwriting award for Piano Roll Rag. His songs receive airplay and are heard on Cable TV around the world. Nick at Night, History Channel, and Discovery Channel are just some of the cable TV channels that play his recordings and compositions.
