Community Choir Concert

The Warner Robins Community Concert Association is proud to sponsor the inaugural Community Choir Concert featuring multiple talented choirs and vocal groups from around our community. The concert will include individual performances from local church choirs, school vocal ensembles, and barber shop groups with a spectacular mass choir finale featuring all of the groups coming together.  The conductor of the mass choir is maestro Tee Smith, director of choirs at Houston County High School. Our 2023-2024 season opener is a must see.

Bloom/Funkhouser Duo

Warner Robins Community Concert Association presents the internationally acclaimed jazz duo of Peter H. Bloom, flute, and John Funkhouser, piano, in an exuberant concert of music by Duke Ellington, Billy Strayhorn, Juan Tizol and Mercer Ellington.  Among the many selections are Caravan, I’m Beginning to See the Light, In a Sentimental Mood, and Jump for Joy.

Acclaimed Vietnamese classical guitarist An Tran has won over twelve international awards and competitions, and has performed at prestigious venues and events such as the Guitar Society of Toronto, New Orleans International Guitar Festival, New York Classical Guitar Society, Chicago Guitar Society and many others. Tran’s debut album, Stay, My Beloved (Frameworks Records), featuring all-Vietnamese guitar music, was released in 2020 and was critically acclaimed by Classical Guitar Magazine and Soundboard Magazine (Guitar Foundation of America), and named as one of the Recordings of the Year by the Chicago Tribune. His second album (Naxos), to be released on June 23, 2023, features the Romantic works of French classical guitarist and composer Napoleon Coste.

Kayla Williams

Kayla began playing the violin at age four then at age ten she discovered her true passion, the viola. As a winner of the 2018 Lynn Concerto Competition, she made her concerto debut performing Bartok’s Viola Concerto. Williams has been the guest of music festivals across a range of music including the Grand Teton Music Festival, the Florida Folk Festival, and will perform at the upcoming Pittsburgh International Jazz Festival during Fall of 2022. Williams has both live and recorded performances with Grammy Award winner Jon Batiste. Kayla believes music should be accessible to students of all backgrounds. She aspires to create a foundation of her own that will provide access and funding needed to support music programs in under-represented communities.

Astralis Chamber Ensemble

The Astralis Chamber Ensemble is an innovative and dynamic ensemble performing with much acclaim across the globe. Through creative programming and presentations on the works performed, Astralis aims to make classical music more accessible and for audiences to make a lasting connection to the music. These award-winning musicians represent decades of experience performing across many of the world’s major venues and notable concert series. Another focus of the ensemble is to support the development of the arts through new compositions and reach communities of all backgrounds through music.

Wellston Winds

The Wellston Winds is a community wind ensemble made of local band directors, music teachers, former military bandsmen, and other local musicians.  Since forming in 2011, the Wellston Winds have given numerous concerts for our community, including the international city fall festival, holiday and patriotic concerts, and programs for the Warner Robins Community Concert Association.  Wellston Winds is conducted by Jay Davis, Wally Shaw and Todd Howell.
